IMU CET New Exam Pattern 2014


Indian Maritime University, Chennai switches over to Computer-based Common Entrance Test (CET) from 2014 onwards Admissions to the various UG and PG courses taught in 7 Campuses of the Indian Maritime University, Chennai and its 36 Affiliated Institutions
are made through Common Entrance Tests (CETs) conducted usually in
the month of June every year. Till 2013, the CET used to be in the pen-
and-paper mode.

IMU CET 2014-15

Indian Maritime University (IMU) conducts a Common Entrance Test to take admission in various courses, leading to a successful career in Merchant Navy. Join Merchant Navy After 10th or ITI Course

People often ask me if they can join merchant navy in India after 10th. Yes folks, its very much possible to do so. But you may not join as an officer, you have to join merchant navy as GP Ratings (General Purpose Rating). Lets see what are the jobs of GP Rating on ship, their eligibility criteria , selection process and how can they achieve the rank of officer later on after gaining some experience.



Work Of GP Rating:


They assist the officers on various jobs of shipping. They are trained specially to carry out necessary tasks in order to surf the ocean safely and effectively. Their training includes fire prevention, sea survival skills and other helpful tasks. Majority of these courses are now made mandatory for everyone on the ship. There are two types of ratings-

DECK RATINGS
Steer the ship and assist the deck officer in other navigational duties. In port, they secure the ship to the dock, carry out maintenance and contribute to the security of the vessel.

Admission Open For Merchant Navy 2014-15 (NEW)

Hello folks! Admission time is almost here for joining merchant navy. Are you guys preparing or not? Here I am sharing the details of the admission procedure and important dates for joining merchant navy for the year 2014-15.


Eligibility:
You must have passed 12th with PCM as your main subject. English is compulsory. 12th appearing students are also eligible but they have to present their mark sheet at the time of counselling. Counselling is generally held in the month of July and the session starts from August.
